Pay It Forward

"Sometimes the simplest idea can make biggest difference."

On the last Saturday of June, in our NSTP class, we had watched a film. It was "Pay It Forward" and we have to watch it and make a reaction paper for it.

At first, I was intrigued by the title. The opening scene is unclear but it only leaped my curiosity higher. What is about that and what's going on?  Then, there's this scene on the classroom where a professor gave a project to his students and it was: Think of an idea that can change the world - and put it into action.

And the boy named Trevor had the idea and did it.

"When someone does you a big favor, don't pay it back. Pay it forward."

He took the project seriously and really think of a way to change the world on his little ways. He come up with this rules:

1. It has to be something that really helps people.
2. Something they can't do by themselves.
3. "I do it for them, they do it for three other people."

And then, he called it "Pay It Forward."

Like what the photo above displays, there's a pyramid scheme on which there are several circles and inside of it is a human figure. He was the one on top, and he would help three people. And as the rules says, each of them would in return help other three people and so on. Until it would grow bigger and bigger and there would be a lot of people getting help.

And there it is. An idea that sparked change gradually. It would take time, yes. But eventually, everyone of us will realize how by only a little deed, a little kindness towards others can make their life change by means we don't know and expect.
. . . . .
I love this movie, it is such an eye-opener for all of us. A little boy who are small in built and frail-looking, who someone might think as weak had contributed and actually did it, and helped others in ways he can.

"Like some other kids, 12-year-old Trevor McKinney believed in the goodness of human nature. Like many other kids, he was determined to change the world for the better. Unlike most other kids, he succeeded." - IMDB
